Coins,Coins,and more Coins!

A few weeks ago I started up coin collecting and I found out that if you take the time to look at it, you can see that there is always so much more to learn about every thing you see and do.  For instance when I asked a coin dealer to tell me how to tell how much a coin is worth he told me one vary surprising fact.  "When a coin dealer tries to find out how much a coin is worth he or she knows that age does not matter one single bit!" [now that was surprising! :].  Most people think that the value of a coin depends on the age [like me! :]. If you web-log viewers want to know what does matter look at this following info.
  1. CONDITION is the thing that matters most. If a coin is in good condition, it might be worth more money. In order for a coin to be worth more than it's original value it must be more than a year old.  If the condition is bad, the coin will be worth it's original value.
  2. MATERIAL also helps determine how much money the coin is worth, BUT, if a coin is gold or silver age does matter. [so for gold and silver coins ignore step 1 :].  For instance, a silver quarter  is worth much more than a normal quarter.DID YOU KNOW that a good conditioned Louisiana silver quarter can be worth up to 10 dollars! For instance, [again] a gold presedental dollar is worth one dollar unless it is old.  But an old presedental dollar can be worth up to like 30 dollars! now you see why material matters.
  3. RARENESS matters  because if a coin is really rare, the value on it will rise quickly!
  4. There are much more reasons for a coin to be worth a bunch so I can't list them all. SORRY:{ :{ :{ :{
